The Latest in Dental Technology at Ocala Endodontics

At Ocala Endodontics, we are committed to providing our patients with the highest quality care by incorporating the latest advancements in dental technology. Our use of state-of-the-art tools such as laser-assisted irrigation and the GentleWave® Procedure enables us to offer minimally invasive, highly effective alternatives for root canal therapy. These innovative technologies improve treatment outcomes, reduce discomfort, and promote faster healing.

We can help you manage anxiety with light oral sedation or nitrous oxide during your visit.

Laser-Assisted Irrigation

Laser-assisted irrigation is an advanced technique used during root canal treatment to thoroughly clean and disinfect the complex root canal system. Traditional irrigation methods rely on chemical solutions alone, but laser-assisted systems use laser energy to enhance the effectiveness of the cleaning process. This technology allows us to reach microscopic areas and remove bacteria, debris, and infected tissue more efficiently than conventional methods.

Benefits of laser-assisted irrigation include the following:

Enhanced cleaning deep within intricate root canal structures

Reduced risk of remaining infection that could cause future problems

Minimally invasive treatment with less discomfort and quicker healing

Improved overall success rates for root canal therapy

GentleWave® Procedure

The GentleWave® Procedure is a revolutionary, cutting-edge technology designed to clean the entire root canal system using a combination of advanced fluid dynamics and multisonic energy. It removes bacteria, pulp tissue, and debris from the canals more comprehensively than traditional root canal methods, often in less time. This gentle, minimally invasive treatment preserves more of the natural tooth structure, reducing the need for extensive instrumentation and lowering the risk of complications.

Benefits of the GentleWave® procedure include the following:

Superior cleaning ability that reaches even tiny and hard-to-access root canal spaces

Reduced treatment time, often completing cleaning in a single visit

Preservation of more natural tooth structure due to minimally invasive techniques

Enhanced patient comfort with less post-treatment pain and swelling

Why Choose Ocala Endodontics for Advanced Dental Technology?

By utilizing these cutting-edge technologies, Ocala Endodontics ensures that our patients receive the most effective and comfortable care available. Our focus on minimally invasive options means you can benefit from faster recovery times, less discomfort, and improved treatment success. We are proud to offer these state-of-the-art solutions that set us apart in endodontic care.

Diagnosis and treatment in endodontics have improved dramatically with the use of CBCT imaging. CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) allows us to view the jaws in three dimensions and identify complex variations in the tooth’s pulp space. It also helps us see around anatomical barriers, enabling a more accurate diagnosis. These images help guide treatment decisions and support more predictable outcomes.

Evolution of my irrigation approach

I began enhancing irrigation with a simple instrument called an endodontic activator. When the GentleWave system was introduced, it reinforced what I was already seeing clinically: hand instrumentation and hand irrigation alone are not enough to thoroughly clean the complex, microscopic anatomy of the root canal system.

Current system: EdgePro laser-assisted irrigation

As new systems entered the market, I ultimately chose EdgePro laser-assisted irrigation because it fits my workflow and supports thorough cleaning throughout shaping.

Why I use it

  • Flexible: Works well with all irrigating solutions and can be used at several points during cleaning and shaping process of root canal therapy.
  • Safe: Helps prevent extrusion of irritating disinfectants.
  • Efficient: Fast to use and does not add significant expense to the root canal therapy process.

I love the laser!

The surgical microscope has become the standard of care in endodontics. Its magnification and illumination of the tiny anatomy within the tooth make it easier to locate additional root canal spaces, diagnose cracks, and seal the intricate anatomy of the dental pulp space.
